Hazardous winter conditions are expected. Locations: Port Saunders and the Straits. Total snowfall: 15 to 25 cm. Maximum wind gusts: northeasterly to northwesterly 60 to 70 km/h. Time span: continuing until early Saturday morning. Remarks: Strong winds accompanying the snow will reduce visibility at times in blowing snow later this afternoon and tonight as temperatures fall. Travel will likely be challenging. Allow extra time for travel. Winter Storm Warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather (such as snow, freezing rain, wind and rain) are expected or occurring.
