SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

A slow moving weather system is bringing a period of prolonged rainfall. Locations: western, central, northeastern, and northern Newfoundland . Total rainfall: 30 to 50 mm with locally higher amounts possible. Time span: gradually ending or tapering to drizzle or showers from west to east across the island overnight through Monday. Remarks: Travel may be difficult due to water pooling on roadways. Some areas could see the rain mix with or changeover to snow overnight into Monday before it tapers off. Some minor snowfall accumulations are possible, especially over higher terrain areas of the Great Northern Peninsula and Green Bay - White Bay.
