YELLOW WATCH - SEVERE THUNDERSTORM

Impact Level: Moderate

Forecast Confidence: High

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing heavy rain. Thunderstorms across western parts of Nova Scotia may become organized into training lines, leading to potential high rainfall amounts. Remarks: There is still some uncertainty in the locations and amounts of the heaviest rainfall accumulation but some areas could receive over 25 mm of rain in less than an hour in the heaviest areas. When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NSstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on X using #NSStorm.
