Some areas could see total local rainfall amounts of 50 to 75 millimetres.
A developing low over Texas, fuelled by moisture, will track toward the Great Lakes while intensifying early next week. It is expected that this system will drop significant rainfall amounts over several regions of Quebec. Thunderstorms will also be possible. Rain will begin on Sunday and is expected to taper off Tuesday.
Note that on May 1rst, Environment and Climate Change Canada's rainfall warning criteria will go from 25 to 50 millimetres in 24 hours. This is the transition from winter to summer rainfall warning criteria in Quebec.
