An intense low pressure system will track up the eastern seaboard today and Tuesday and will linger over the region on Wednesday. Precipitation from this storm will begin before dawn Tuesday in the southwest as rain and freezing rain. An extended period of freezing rain is expected over western and northern regions and warnings are now in effect. These freezing rain warnings will likely be extended to additional regions for Tuesday night. The freezing rain will eventually change over to rain across the entire province. Significant rainfall over the province is possible with this system and rainfall warnings may be required for some regions for Tuesday night and Wednesday. In addition, strong easterly winds will develop on Tuesday and will spread across the province overnight into Wednesday.
