Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • Bulkley Valley and The Lakes - northwest including Smithers

Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm continues.

Snowfall across the Bulkley Valley and the Lakes - Northwest region is forecast to continue though tonight. Total snowfall amounts will be in the range of 10 to 15 cm today. Amounts will be in the range
of 2 to 4 cm tonight before the snow eases off but near Fort St James a further 5 to 10 cm is likely before snow eases off early Sunday.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

  • Highway 16 - Smithers to Terrace

Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm continues.

A frontal system continues to bring heavy snow to the inland sections of the North Coast. Up to 25 cm snow is expected over Highway 16 - Smithers to Terrace by this evening. Snow will taper off later tonight as the system moves to the south.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. For information on emergency plans and kits go to http://www.getprepared.gc.ca/
